Who is responsible
PocketScribe is operated by StackX Pty Ltd. For privacy questions, access or deletion requests, contact support@pocketscribe.app. This policy was last updated on 15 October 2026.
Recordings and transcripts
Recordings, imported media, transcripts, speaker labels, corrections and saved playback positions are stored in the app’s local storage. Speech recognition and speaker separation run on the device. The current app does not upload this content to us or a cloud transcription service. We do not use your recordings to train our own models.
Microphone access is requested when you record. Importing uses files you select. Optional Highlights use Apple’s on-device Foundation Models framework on eligible devices. Speaker labels are local labels within a recording, not identification of a known person.
When a connection is used
The first transcription downloads model files through the FluidAudio library from model hosting services, including Hugging Face. Those requests can expose connection metadata, such as IP address and requested model files, to the hosting provider. They do not upload your recording for transcription.
Installation and updates use Apple’s services. Purchases and subscription verification will need network access when the paid service launches. We do not currently provide our own cloud library or cross-device sync.
Subscription and allowance data
Apple processes in-app payments and RevenueCat helps verify purchases and subscription access. RevenueCat is connected in the current development build. It processes purchase history, subscription status, an anonymous app user identifier and relevant technical information to verify access. The app does not require a PocketScribe account or send your name or email to RevenueCat. App Store purchases remain unavailable to the public while release testing is completed.
We do not send recordings or transcripts to RevenueCat for subscription management. Apple handles your payment details; PocketScribe does not need your card number. See RevenueCat’s privacy policy and Apple’s privacy information.
Website and support data
This website is hosted on Vercel. Vercel processes technical request information, such as IP addresses, requested pages, browser information and timestamps, to deliver and protect the site. See Vercel’s privacy notice. We have not added advertising trackers, analytics scripts, a mailing-list signup or a contact form to this site. The illustrative preview runs locally in your browser and does not use your microphone.
If you email support, we and the email services handling the message receive your email address, message and any attachments you choose to send. We use them to answer your request, investigate problems and handle privacy or consumer-rights requests. Please share only what is necessary.
Retention and deletion
Your local library remains on your device until removed. In the current development build, Recently Deleted retains recordings indefinitely and does not permanently erase them or free their storage. Deleting the app through iOS removes its local library; offloading keeps it. A device-local free-allowance record in the iOS Keychain may remain after app deletion. It contains completed recording identifiers, not your audio or transcript text, and is not synchronised across devices. Exported copies and backups must be managed separately.
We retain support correspondence only for as long as needed to resolve the request, maintain relevant support records and meet legal obligations. Hosting providers retain operational logs under their policies. Purchase records may be retained for subscription administration, fraud prevention and legal obligations.
We cannot remotely retrieve or erase recordings stored only on your device. Contact us to request access, correction or deletion of personal information we do hold, such as support correspondence. We may need proportionate verification of your identity. Deleting app data does not cancel an Apple subscription.
Your choices and rights
You can revoke microphone permission in iOS Settings, choose what you import or share, manage device backups, and contact support@pocketscribe.app about your information. Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or obtain a copy of personal information, object to processing or complain to a privacy regulator. These rights may be subject to legal exceptions.
Where data-protection law requires a lawful basis, responding to requested support and providing a purchased service supports performance of that service; security and troubleshooting support our legitimate interests; and recordkeeping may be required by law. We seek consent where required. We do not knowingly solicit children’s personal information through this website. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information to us.
Changes to this policy
We update this page when our data practices change and change the date above. Material changes will be communicated as appropriate, including through the app when available.
